The Welfare Committee is charged with providing assistance to members that have suffered a particularly devastating event in their work or personal life. A small portion of your monthly dues has been ear-marked according to the ILEU constitution for this purpose. The Welfare committee has disbursed one-time contributions to members who have fallen on particularly hard times. Each situation is evaluated, and if appropriate, money may be given in an attempt to help a member through his or her ordeal. These situations are held in the strictest confidence, and no one outside of the committee is made aware of the details, or monetary amounts. If you know of a member who might be in need of this type of assistance, contact the Welfare Committee. Upon the death of a member, or anyone in the immediate family or household of any Union member, the ILEU will send a floral or spiritual bouquet, a bible, or donations to recognized charities in lieu of floral or spiritual bouquets to the member or the family of the member. If you know of a death in the family of any of our members, you can contact the President directly, or call (908) 730-2088 to let us know.
